When Dadi came to America...and to Gracie's school...

Gracie's class has been working on Ancestry reports. They've written reports about their ancestors and their heritage. On Thursday, March 29th it was a show and tell day. The students needed to bring in something that represented their foreign ancestors. We figured nothing is more foreign than Dadi...

The kids had lots of questions about when Dadi came from India

Dressed Up to Get Down at Kevin & Tina's Wedding...

We had a great time at Kevin & Tina's wedding on Saturday. It was great to see everybody together again for such a great celebration.

The Epic Lobster

This lobster dish was served at Kevin and Tina's wedding geet garba the night before the wedding. I had to take a picture of it. It makes me hungry every time I see it.

Having fun in the garden...

Only Cozy and Gracie can come up with ways to making garden work into a scene from munchkin land. These lollipop kids crack me up.

Gracie's American Girl Day

Grace and Karen had a great day together at the American Girl store at the Grove in LA celebrating her 8th Birthday. Gracie got to pic out her own doll, dresses, and even chose a hairstyle for her. Afterward, we had lunch at the famous farmers market. That night when she got home, she and her new doll went to bed in matching pajamas. What a fun day for our Gracie girl. Happy 8th Birthday!

A Cozy day in LA.

Our fun day started at the La Brea Tar Pits. Taylor loved the large mastodon skeletons, wall of wolf skulls, sabertooth cats and the giant sloths. But he especially liked the animatronic sabertooth cat eating the giant sloth. We walked to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and saw the huge rock and played in the light poles out front. We also had curry tacos and french fries at the food trucks in front of the LACMA. Then we saw this huge sign for the new movie about Jackie Robinson, "42" and had to take our picture in front of it. It was just a great day with the kid.

Taylor's first bike ride...

This took him about 20mins on the grass, 15mins on the cement...and he had it.
He's never used training wheels...

And about 5mins after he rode his bike for the first time...Cozy tries a trick on his second bike ride ever...takes his feet off the pedals, and puts them on the center bar...puts his feet back on the pedals and slows himself down with the brakes...

...And then this happened on Day 2 of riding a bike. It wasn't as bad as it looked. There was a collision between Cozy and Grace. Taylor cried for a little bit...I told him to stop crying, and he did. The kid is as tough as nails...
