The teachers and students at Sumner Elementary School do an annual "Country Tour". Gracie's class selected France. Gracie took us on a tour of her projects throughout the year. You can see the Family Crest that she created, the French Castle that she built, her recreation of Starry Night by the French artist Vincent Van Gogh, and her project on dinosaurs.
This will be our first season growing grapes. We're really looking forward to it. So far these Red Flame grapes seem to be right on schedule. Our Boysenberries are in their second season and are more bountiful than last year. As for the Artichokes, we had so many, that we wanted to see what the flower looked like. We were not disappointed...
...but we found these beauties instead.
We ordered the Mount St. Helen's Ice Cream. It had vanilla ice cream on the bottom with a layer of cherry syrup and butter scotch syrup, topped with a heap of rainbow sherbet covered in whip cream and almonds. They said that if we finished it, we would get a ribbon. The kids wanted that ribbon! Oh, and on the right is a pineapple ice cream soda that we used as a chaser.
Campfire songs in the backyard. Taylor is convinced that it's Alouett-O. It's cracking Gracie up. The whole time, Gracie, Karen and I taking bets on weather Taylor will fall in the hole on his left.
Had a fun night at the Clippers game. The Clips won in overtime...
The kids were out in the yard watering the plants and picking berries...
Cozy and Daddy went to watch the Angels take on the Orioles. Even though the Orioles won, we had a great time. We even saw Howie Kendrick hit a home run...
...with some "Toasted Nuts" colored paint. We couldn't handle the rustic aka dingy wood look, so we painted the deck and the furniture...
Cozy nodded off during dinner. Clearly the veggie's weren't exciting enough for him.
Karen and I had an opportunity to go to the California Sports Hall Of Fame 2012 Induction Ceremony. There were some great names in California sports present. Rick Barry(Warriors), Tommy Smith(Olympics), John Carlos(Olympics), Ted Hendricks(Raiders), Tommy Davis(Dodgers)...
